ABOUT THE PROJECT
Boca Bites is an Indonesian bakery specializing in Brazilian Pão de Queijo. I was hired for rebranding to attract a younger, Instagram-based audience as well as to set a clear brand identity.
POSITION
Freelance Branding & Graphic Design
DURATION
2 weeks

CONTEXT
As a business started in 1996 by Lia, many of Boca Bites' original customers were from an older demographic. With the rise of Instagram-based food businesses in Indonesia, Boca Bites needed to rebrand to keep up with competition. Additionally, the name "Boca Bites" itself was rarely used, instead being referred to as "Lia's cheese bread".
GOAL
1. Appeal to a younger demographic while staying true to its original customer base
2. Set a clear brand identity
3. Create a box aesthetic fit for gifting, especially during the pandemic
THE LOGO
The main font was chosen for its mix of rustic and modern. We wanted to allude to Boca Bites' roots as a home business in 1996, but with a modern twist for its new intended audience. We added "by Lia" at the end for older customers to still recognize and feel a personal connection with the brand.
THE COLORS
To tap into its Brazilian origin, we decided to select the main colors of blue, green, and yellow in honor of the Brazilian flag.
